Looking to view nature’s fireworks this weekend and have a snack?

Hoosiers voted for the best viewing areas and pie on the VisitIndianaFall.com website sponsored by the Indiana Office of Tourism Development. You can read DNR’s media release here.

For fall foliage, Brown County (Nashville), Indiana Dunes (Chesterton), Clifty Falls (Madison) and Turkey Run (Marshall) state parks were the top four locations; Spring Mill State Park (Mitchell) came in seventh.

Clifty Inn’s sugar cream pie ranked fourth on the pie list. Fort Harrison State Park Inn in Indianapolis came in sixth for its pecan pie. Abe Martin Lodge, which is in Brown County State Park, ranked 10th for its mini peanut butter pie. I can personally vouch for both pies.

You can check out the fall colors at Spring Mill State Park from your computer using Indiana DNR’s live video leafcam. The DNR website also has a listing of special October activities at state parks.

Pick a park, and book a room at the Indiana State Park Inns or reserve a camping spot.

See you outside!

Halloween
